Deduct the fuel of your utility vehicle
You deduct the fuel of your utility vehicle based on its professional use.
The fact that your vehicle is a utility vehicle does not automatically allow you to deduct the fuel 100%!
You can deduct the fuel fiscally at 100% if its use is only professional. One way to prove it, in the eyes of a curious controller, is to have an alternative for private travel.
Similarly, you only get 100% VAT back on the fuel if you don't use your utility vehicle outside of work - not even to fill the large trunk of a van with groceries for the month! In doubt? Note that our partner accountant indicated that 85% is otherwise an acceptable rate of VAT deductibility.
Not sure what counts as a utility vehicle and what doesn't? The state's Financial Department explains it right here: https://bit.ly/353h2Ev
